Abstract

COQEBS, the Concerned Organization for Quality Education for Black Students, is a coalition of community organizations and individuals organized for the purpose of working to ensure the Pinellas County School District fulfills its commitment to provide quality education for black students. COQEBS is especially dedicated to improving school readiness. Past President of COQEBS, Watson Haynes, and Dr. James McHale, Professor of Psychology at USF St. Petersburg, were interviewed by Benjamin Kirby, Communications Manager of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County on July 23, 2012. In this video clip hosted on the JWBPinellas YouTube channel, they discussed one of COQEBS’ major initiatives with USF St. Petersburg called Baby Talk.
