On the road to recovery in gen ed math: Assessment as a learning tool.
Jam, Quest, ReQuest incorporates retrieval practice and the use of assessment as a learning opportunity. Students have time to learn from their mistakes, clarify any poorly understood concepts, demonstrate improved mastery, and continue with the course material without getting behind or failing due to gaps in their learning. Since the Jam, Quest, ReQuest method was implemented, there has been a significant increase in the percentage of students successfully completing College Algebra at USFSP.
