The Neighborhood News Bureau (NNB) opened in March of 2006 and is located in its own offices in Midtown St. Petersburg. It is a working newsroom, staffed by USFSP undergraduate and graduate students. It serves the USFSP campus and the surrounding community in three ways.
- It provides training for journalism students at USFSP and other schools.
- It functions as a community connection for collecting and disseminating information and news.
- It produces stories, features and announcements for the use by local and regional news media and community organizations, most recently the Weekly Challenger and the “Neighborhood Times” section of the St. Petersburg Times.
The NNB invites news items, announcement of events and story tips from residents. For more information about the NNB, visit their web site at http://www.nnbnews.com/
